Task and my role. Creating a super friendly video experience is all about making it enjoyable and easy for everyone. We want to design something that feels welcoming and fun, so users can dive right in and have a great time watching videos without any hassle!

The Uscreen Video Player is an ultra-customizable and extendable video player solution engineered to seamlessly integrate with any website or application. This cutting-edge player offers an extensive array of features to elevate the viewing experience and empowers developers with unparalleled flexibility. Crafted with web components, it guarantees modularity and harmonious integration with contemporary web development frameworks.
Tailor every aspect of the player to suit your brand's identity and aesthetic preferences. Easily extend functionality through a robust plugin system, allowing for seamless integration of additional features.

We used to have a video player that worked fine for our clients, but as our platform grew, we needed something more flexible. Here are some features we’re looking for:
- A video layer for rendering any content, mainly for the Upsell feature (like merch and extra services)
- Custom branding options for the player
- Live streaming support
- Chapter breakdowns for video content
- Note visualization on the timeline.
Clear interface
All necessary information is read instantly. Remaining time, total time, and current time. Captions, air sharing, rewind, PIP, and video quality settings. Control buttons are located in familiar places for all users.
The timeline and play button colors come from the customer's main color settings when they set up store's appearance. But if you want to switch it up and use a different color—easy! Ultra customization!
Natural user experience
I aimed to stick with the patterns that folks are already used to. This way, the user experience feels more familiar and comfy, avoiding any awkwardness or confusion. It’s all about making things easy and enjoyable for everyone!

Modes
The platform allows for different uses of the player depending on the context. This can be a live stream or regular playback. Chapters are convenient for educational content, while the cinema mode is ideal for live streams with a large audience to facilitate creator feedback with their audience.

Chapters. Jump easily between chapters.
Live stream. Watch and rewind backwards if you was late.
Theatre mode. Watch and chat in full screen.
Notes
Ucreen kicked off as a place for educational videos, and it’s still packed with that kind of content. One of the coolest features people love is being able to jot down notes while watching, and then easily jump back to the exact moment linked to those notes.
I kept the interface super simple. When you pause and start jotting down a note, it’ll set the time 10 seconds back, helping you get back into the flow. Plus, you can always adjust the time yourself if you want.
Upsell from video
This is perhaps one of the most effective features in the video experience on Uscreen. Upsells during viewing, from merchandise to additional materials or private consultations. We can render any type of ads using an HTML container.
In the admin panel, I set up a super easy way to add ads to your videos. Just upload an image, type in your text, and drop in a link—it's a breeze! Plus, you can connect with third-party services or stores.
